Tex and Shirley Moore opened this restaurant in January of 1972. Seventeen years later, in October of 1989, they retired to their home state of Texas. They sold the restaurant to long-time manager and friend Bart Ortiz. Bart and his family continue to operate Greensboro’s premiere place for breakfast. Our staff of long-time and newer members welcomes you to our Tex & Shirley’s Family of customers.

Tex and Shirley’s has been a Greensboro institution since 1972 - and the much-loved original at Friendly Center started it all!
